The Dream and the Setback
- Kerry and I married in 1989 and honeymooned in Nepal 1989. I had always planned to revisit.
- By approximately 1994, I had been diagnosed with IGA Glomerulonephritis. My kidney function was deteriorating. My dreams of trekking in the Himalayas were in tatters.
- In 2012, I woke up in a hospital having received a very special kidney from my sister Jennifer.
- Receiving a gift of life is very special, but emotionally, I was uncertain where my life would go. Would it fail and end up on a Dialysis machine? It was the unknown and the feeling starting from scratch—loss of strength, mobility, and confidence.
